Windows “Account Update” Hoax

I just received a mail saying this:

Sub: YOUR ACCOUNT WOULD BE CLOSED TREAT AS URGENT

UPDATE THIS ACCOUNT,

Take note of this message and treat as urgent.

This message is from Windows Live Team, it is aimed at ensuring that our entire account user verifies their accounts as any account that violates our online privacy policy statement will be shut down. It is also aimed to curb anonymous registration of our account which is causing congestion to our service.

Any of our account holders that flaunt this order shall have their accounts deleted permanently.  You have one week from date of receipt of this message to comply or risk your account closed.

You are therefore advised to verify that you are the owner of this account and still in use by filling the information below.

• The funniest part is that it says it’s from “WindowsLive Team”. The actual mail come from “Windows Live Team“.
• If you hover your cursor on the “WindowsLive Team”, the ID would show as “kjell240@hotmail.com”. Whereas the real mail ID happens to be some thing like “communications@microsoft.windowslive.com”
• There is no place or hyper- link to read the “Privacy Statement” online or even other- wise.
• The entire e- mail is typed in Bold and at places Italicized too!

SPAM the email asap, and kindly do not reply!

NEVER EVER SHARE YOUR PASSWORD
